My name is
Caitlin
Duffy Balón, and I was born
on Tuesday, November
11, in the year 2003
at 8:42 AM, in Washington, DC, at The
George Washington University Hospital. I weighed 7 pounds
and 5 ounces, and I was 19 inches long.
My birthday
falls two days before my GreatGrandma’s (Lolo Balón’s
mother’s) birthday and six days ahead of my Lolo Duffy’s
birthday. I’m pretty lucky!
On the day
I was born, my daddy called relatives in The
Philippines, where my Lolo and Lola Balón were at the
time. Mommy’s parents were in town, and so I have had lots
of love from them almost all my life! I can’t wait to meet
my relatives in California
and Vermont.
After two
days in the hospital, I met my older sister, Emma
Rose, for the first time.
She was the best! She kissed me and hugged me, and wondered when
I was going to leave.
But, I plan
on staying, since I can’t drive yet. When Emma finally realized
this, she stopped calling me, “melon,” and offered
to share some of her cool clothes with me. I love her!
I am soooo
advanced for my age. I can cry whenever I want to be held by my
mommy. I like to eat — a lot, especially in the evenings.
Everything is new and strange to me, like how sometimes people
speak to me as if I was born yesterday.
My mommy
and daddy are very
tired, so this is the extent of my pictures right now. Maybe I
can encourage them to give me and this site a little attention
— I know that my fan club is waiting!
It was very
nice to meet you. I look forward to meeting you face-to-face when
I can give you one of my famous smiles.
See ya,
Caitlin
